"I created "the Altis Ballet" as a physical expression of Martin's exhibit. I wanted to show the subtle intensity of his creative vision and the celebration of beauty which underlies every aspect of his work.

The dance work I created attempts to be deep and subtle at the same time --the sensitivity of line and gesture is illuminated on-stage, and the time element expanded to be timeless. The work is a stylized representation of Martin's idea."

-Rebecca Rice
Choreographer

Note: The Altis Ballet was commissioned in 2002 by Kenn Gray/ Media Gallery. Since then, it has been preformed at the Boston Ballet and other dance performance venues. For more of Rebecca's work, please visit rebeccaricedance.com.
